The backwaters of Kerala has been an attraction to a lot of foreign tourists looking for a quiet corner & good food in a country whose population is breaking her seams. Alleppey or Alappuzha is also known as the Venice of the East because of its beautiful water bodies and great culture. Living in a houseboat in Alleppey is a captivating experience. Floating on serene backwaters, passing through the mangroves is a luxury vacation option when money is not a problem. The picture is taken by Adityan Ramkumar.

Over 5000 years of human civilization, prosperity in arts, science, philosophy and non-materialistic sciences have also harbored religions, rituals & various customs in India. Very often we follow these rituals mechanically these days without completely knowing the purpose or completely following the processes as prescribed in the Vedas.
