Very often we follow these rituals mechanically these days without completely knowing the purpose or completely following the processes as prescribed in the Vedas.

The diversity is something that one cannot overlook or even intentionally pretend to avoid in India. Diversity exists in every aspect of Indian life. And more importantly, this largest democracy in the world, even with all its denominational problems & tensions, have grown to be extremely inclusive in all aspects.

Religions co-exist and devotees co-mingle in this extra-ordinary image of a Buddhist monk happily sharing the ambrosia with the local kids in a small Indian monastery.
